Zara Belconde is currently enrolled in her second semester of Music Compound’s Kidz Rock program

Join Music Compound members and staff for the music school’s annual Back to School Bash, this year taking place at both locations in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Highlights to include live musical performances, bounce house, food truck, beer samples (for the adults), crafts, face painting, and more. Families can enjoy a tour of Music Compound, meet team members, and join demonstration classes, including Kidz Rock, guitar, vocals and drums; these will be offered every 30 minutes. After-school activity partners will be onsite with program information as well. There will be giveaways for attendees as well as a drawing to win a membership (pre-registration is required to participate).

These events are free and open to the public. Take place on Saturday, August 19, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Music Compound SRQ (1751 Cattlemen Rd., Sarasota) and Music Compound MAN (4740 SR 64 E.).

“Our programs – including lessons for kids, Junior Rock and Kidz Rock, and band performance opportunities for area youth – help students to grow musically and socially. They encourage team building, boost confidence, and build performance skills, all of which benefit children whether they aspire to be professionals in the field or not,” said Music Compound owner Jenny Townsend. “As parents consider their options for school-year activities, we hope they will consider musical enrichment for their students at Music Compound.”

New/returning programs this year include homeschool options (first time since the pandemic); Piano Jam, a new piano group for ages 8-11; MINI and ME classes for parents to enjoy with children ages four months up to 4 years; and baby and toddler classes.

The Music Compound – now with locations in Sarasota and Manatee counties – provides an environment to inspire, collaborate and educate children and adults in pursuit of their love of music. Private and group lessons are available on a wide variety of instruments as well as programs such as Kidz Rock (ages 4-7), Junior Rock (ages 8-11), the Musical Theatre Program, an expanded artist series that includes songwriting, music production and performance coaching, Adult Jam Sessions, the Gulf Coast New Horizons Music program for adults ages 50+, and more.
